Stock Picking Track Record of Steven Cress

A subscriber asked about the track record of Steven Cress, VP of Quantitative Strategy and Market Data at Seeking Alpha. To investigate, we search for his annual top 10 stock lists, with results as follows:

• “Top Stocks For 2022” of 1/19/2022.
• “Top 10 Stocks For 2023” of 1/5/2023.
• “Top 10 Stocks For 2024” of 12/31/2024.
• “Top 10 Stocks For 2025” of 1/9/2025.

For each stock, we calculate total return from the the first close on/after the publication date through the end of the pick year (except the end of September for 2025). We use SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) as a benchmark. Using the specified return data, we find that: (more…)
